Heritage Hall Power Over Millwood

Thursday night the 2A Millwood Falcons and the 3A Heritage Hall Chargers met at Charger Stadium in Oklahoma City. Millwood and Heritage Hall own seven state championships each.

Heritage Hall got on the board first with a 22 yard field goal by Carter Counts at the 3:03 mark of the first quarter. There was a lot of back and forth action but neither team would score again until late in the second quarter. Heritage Hall put together a 70 yard drive featuring four passes from quarterback Will Paque to Orie Walker. The drive was capped off by River Faulkner’s 15 yard run to put the Chargers up 10-0 with 1:08 left in the half. On the kickoff, Millwood’s Rickey Hunt picked up the ball at his own 11 and picked his way through the Chargers for 89 yards to get the Falcons on the board with 52 seconds left in the half. Heritage Hall led 10 to 6. On the next Charger possession, Will Paque connected with Gavin Freeman for a 55 yard touchdown play. Heritage Hall led 16-6 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Heritage Hall began to pull away. On their first possession, River Faulkner got the last 29 yards of their scoring drive on runs of 21 and 8 yards to extend the Heritage Hall lead to 23 to 6. He scored two more touchdowns in the third quarter on runs of 41 yards and 1 yard. Faulkner finished the night with 160 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries. Heritage Hall led 37-6 after three quarters.
In the fourth quarter Brigham Evans scored from 3 yards out giving Heritage Hall a 44-6 lead. Millwood’s Bailey Brown scored on a 6 yard run late in the game. Then in the last minute Millwood quarterback Iverson McElwee hooked up with Rickey Hunt for a 60 yard bomb. Heritage Hall defeats Millwood by a score of 44 to 18.
