Harvesting derecho damaged corn near Sullivan, Illinois August 31st, 2010
A derecho with winds over 100 mph ravaged a large swath near Sullivan in Moultrie County. This is the aftermath farmers must deal with. We're using autosteer RTK, automatic header control, outside roller cones, and a 5 snout trash reel to help pick up the corn. I highly recommend this setup over a full size corn reel. I was able to drive twice as fast in down corn (3.5mph vs 1.5 max with a full size reel) while still doing a good job.
