Frozen Shoulder - Adhesive Capsulitis

Frozen Shoulder - Adhesive Capsulitis
Dr. Edmond Cleeman -
This is an educational video about Frozen Shoulder. In some patients who develop shoulder pain, they also develop stiffness. This is called Frozen Shoulder or Adhesive Capsulitis. Frozen Shoulder is one of those medical mysteries, we don't know why it occurs. It occurs more commonly in women between the ages of 45-60 and also is more common in diabetic patients. The good news is that 90% of patients are successfully treated without surgery. The bad news is that it can take 12 months. For those who fail non-operative management, Arthroscopic Shoulder Surgery is a good option to help decrease pain and improve motion.

This video reviews the clinical picture, pathology and treatment of Frozen Shoulder. I show an arthroscopic shoulder surgery video treating a Frozen Shoulder. We have included diagrams and surgical videos to help demonstrate this injury and the treatment.

This video is for educational purposes only, it is not a substitute for medical advice or treatment from a licensed healthcare professional. Thank you for watching, we look forward to your comments.
