Japan - Oldest twins live to see another birthday

(1 Aug 1998) T/I: 11:02:09
Japan's oldest and most famous twins Kin-san and Gin-san turned 106 Saturday (01/08) and are in good health. The pair were given "Suzumushi" insects, treasured in Japan for their bell-like sound, as birthday presents. Kin Narita and Gin Kanie, who live in Nagoya and are known affectionately as Kin-san and Gin-san, received the two types of "Suzumushi" called Kin-suzu and Gin-suzu from a post office in the neighbouring city of Tsushima. They celebrated their birthday with family and friends.
