Turkish Meat Pie Recipe | Minced Meat Bread

Another very healthy and delicious Turkish Meat Pie Recipe. This recipe has almost no oil nor fat in it. It is optional to brush some vegetable oil at the end. And make sure that you use fatless meat. You can also deep fry these boreks!Transfer the whole grain wheat into a big bowl and add 2 tsp. (1 dessert spoon) of salt Slowly add 2 cups of water and you will have a soft dough Cover it up and let it rest for half an hour DIRECTIONS FOR THE FILLING Grate the onion And the tomato Chop the parsley And add a whole egg Add a dessert spoon of salt And ½ tsp. Of black pepper Add 2 tsp. Of red pepper flakes Mix it and add the ground meat Add a cup of water to soften the filling Before you start rolling the dough, dust the surface to avoid it sticking Cut the dough in to 12 equal pieces Prepare small balls of dough Start rolling Turn it over for both sides to cook equally Brush some oil on the browned side Turn it over again and brush some oil
It's oroginal name is 'Etli Ekmek' and it is special to northern part of Turkey.
-Ingredients for filling
400 g (1 lbs) of no-fat ground meat
1 big size onion
1 big size tomato
Half a bunch of parsley
1 egg
2 tsp. Of salt
2 tsp. Of red pepper flakes
½ tsp. Of black pepper

-Ingredients for the phyllo pastry
4 cups of whole grain flour
2 cups of white flour
2 tsp. Of salt
2 cups of water
½ cup of vegetable oil
