Todays Nursery Haul
Hey there everybody! I hope you're have a great day today too!
We did some planned & controlled shopping at the nurseries today and I have to say I am very pleased with the results. For about $100 total we brought home 2 months worth of fish food, a Cuban oregano plant, a lovage plant, a smokey Saskatoon berry bush, a Polaris blueberry and two established goji berry bushes with loads of off shoots to play with! Score!
If you aren't familiar with the Cuban oregano it has to be one of the juiciest varieties of oregano I have ever encountered. We plan to bring in a well established plant to try and keep it alive over the winter because outside it will die once the weather cools even a little. The lovage is new to me but tastes interesting and comes highly recommended to Chox so I look forward to seeing how that works out as well ...
As for the four plants in the box well I have plans for them! The two goji berry plants were only $10 each and with all of those shoots I suspect I may be able to add to those numbers. Look around if you go to buy some of these, the first ones we looked at were $25 each and only a tiny bit larger! The smokey Saskatoon berry have me very excited since I've loved those since before I was out of diapers so I'm pretty happy to have some growing now. They had a second type that I may go back for, I just haven't decided yet. They polaris blueberry looks like it should be a very productive plant for us in the semi permaculture garden as well. I saw those honey & haskap berry bushes come back from the dead this year so I'm sure these blueberries will be fine ...
Check out the Clean Valley Farms channel, linked below, to visit while I transplant these bushes and rearrange the semi permaculture garden out front! Thanks for watching, have yourselves a wonderful day!
Blessed be!
