HOT CPI = Hot Stock Market

CPI came in hot, but expectations for the Fed didn't change and investors went crazy in the stock market today! Despite Core CPI coming in slightly higher, reaffirming expectations of more stickier inflation, investors weren't too shocked by the data and found a way to trade the market near record highs. There is still more economic data in the week that can shift things, but for the most part it seems as if the soft landing/no landing camp is feeling optimistic until Powell says otherwise. Expectations were high today but the market moved almost exactly inline with what options were pricing in the day prior. This says a lot about the data as it seems as if investors can't really be surprised lately as most pricing is accounting for the volatility. Nonetheless, March continues to roll out the events and this CPI move will be an interesting stepping stone moving forward. After this brief market recap and stock analysis, I go over my portfolio and 3 stocks for tomorrow. I go over ORCL stock and why I see it as a short term AI stock for a momentum trade. Then I go over another AI stock for a post earnings play and discuss why China stocks could have momentum tomorrow. Finally, I go over gold stocks and give an update on my recent trade on gold.
