A new proposal from John Delaney, a former Democratic congressman for Maryland that ran for president in 2020, would offer Americans a $1,500 stimulus check to receive the vaccine and get immunized.

Delaney explained: “We have to create, in my judgment, an incentive for people to really accelerate their thinking about taking the vaccine.”

He continued: “The faster we get 75 percent of this country vaccinated, the faster we end [the virus] and the sooner everything returns to normal.”

With details still being ironed out, this program could be a great way for Americans to safely receive the vaccine, while being compensated with a stimulus check for their efforts.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell talked for the first time since the election back in early November, about terms of the highly anticipated Phase 4 disaster relief bill.

According to Pelosi’s spokesman Drew Hammill, the two politicians: “shared commitment to completing an omnibus [spending bill] and relief as soon as possible.”

McConnell had this to say of the meeting: “Yeah, well we had a good conversation. I think we’re both interested in getting an outcome, both on the omnibus and on a [stimulus] package.”

He also stated: “Compromise is within reach. We know where we agree. We can do this.”

It’s great to hear that talks are picking up once again between leading Democrats and Republicans, and I just hope that they will be able to come to terms on the much needed stimulus package that we’ve been waiting on for over 8 months.

Finally, President Elect Joe Biden made some very encouraging comments recently about voicing his support for the recently proposed $908 billion stimulus package created by the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus.

In an interview with CNN, Biden explained that he supports the $908 billion stimulus package, stating: “I think it should be passed. I’m going to have to ask for more help when we get there to get things done.”

Biden continued: “I think, if they can get the 900 -- what they're talking about, the number. I think it was $900 billion. That would be a good start. It's not enough. It's needed. And they should focus on the things that are immediately needed.”

With all leading Democrats now officially on board with the $908 billion stimulus package, it finally looks like we could see some disaster relief funds before the end of this crazy 2020.
