Is our appetite for fast fashion a problem? Join Avneet Ghotra as she sheds light on the environmental debt of the fashion industry and offers a novel solution through her company, ALT TEX. She helps visualize the industry's carbon emissions, water consumption, chemical pollution, and it ultimate fate in the landfill. Passionate about circular economy, Avneet and her team are tackling the problem with a waste-to-wardrobe solution, by generating a biodegradable polyester alternative made from food waste. Avneet Ghotra specializes in Sustainability Management and Bioprocess R&D. She co-founded ALT TEX, a Toronto-based biomaterials startup, creating biodegradable polyester alternative re-engineered from food waste. Avneet leads ALT TEX’s R&D with 4 years of research experience in biogeochemistry.
