IELTS / TOEFL Academic Vocabulary: Society

Although we live in a society, society itself is just an idea. Likewise, the words we generally use to discuss society are concept words, like heritage and custom, inclusive and diverse, prejudice and xenophobia. It is important, then, to know the differences between synonyms and even between different structural forms of the same words.

In this video, we look at some general concepts about society that may come up on the IELTS or TOEFL Task 2 essay. Remember, the writing section tests your ability to communicate even abstract ideas in precise ways using strong English vocabulary. Start building up your base today.
