Subterranean Termites live in a colony system. That means, that the individual termites in a colony each have a specific role to play. Most of the termites are the worker termites, these termites eat wood and process food for the colony. Then there are soldier termites, these defend the colony from predators. Then the termites that you see in this video, are the reproductive termites. The reproductive termites are capable of breeding and laying eggs that turn into new termites.

If you see these black termites around your home, there is a good chance that there is a termite colony close by. I would highly recommend getting your home inspected if you see these swarming termites.
