Dying To Be A Good Mother | Heather Chauvin | TEDxWindsor
What if it was possible to wake up feeling energized and fall sleep feeling content? What if you felt like you were LIVING and not simply surviving your day-to-day life? Life is like prepping for a really long road trip, the first thing you do is look at the gas gage and judge how far you can get until it’s time to fill up again. You drive to the nearest gas station and fill up because you know you have a ways to go.
So why are we willing to fill our car for a long road trip but we're not willing to do this in our journey through motherhood? With our bodies, our mind and our soul? We expect ourselves to go through this journey called life never once considering, how full is our tank?
I started noticing a shift in my children's behavior, success in my business, improvements in my health and connections in my relationships when I gave myself permission to listen to the little voice inside so desperate for my attention.
I finally came to the realization it wasn’t the fear of dying I was afraid of, it the fear of not knowing how to live.
Heather shared her journey through stage 4 cancer and how taking back control of her dreams and the desire was the exact thing she needed to create sustainability in her life and motherhood. Heather has been named the next generation’s thought leader in parenting and women’s leadership. Creator of the New & Noteworthy Podcast, the Mom Is In Control Podcast, and has been featured on the OWN network, Huffington Post, TV outlets and others. Through her Courageous Rewrite Initiative, Heather gives voice to many humans who courageously took inspired action to create lives they’re proud of. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
