20 years of clean power at UCLA
UCLA’s cogeneration plant has supplied the campus with coal-free power for more than 20 years, meeting more than three-quarters of the campus’ power needs. The gas-powered plant’s clean energy also converts its own waste heat into still more clean power, steam and chilled water used across campus. The cogen plant is an important piece of UCLA’s carbon neutrality strategy and demonstrates sustainable options for Greater Los Angeles.
