Light palletising with robot KR CYBERTECH-2 equipped with AIRSKIN for greater safety
Collaboration between humans and robots sharing the same workspace is increasingly in demand. Barrier-free robot cells make better use of the available space, while maintaining the same degree of safety required in the application.
Light palletising, i.e. the handling of light loads, normally moved by operators to create traditional pallets, is gaining ground in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods sector. For this reason, KUKA, together with Inxpect, Blue Danube Robotics and Schmalz, offers a complete solution that combines the need for high throughput and adherence to the safety standards required to implement collaborative applications. This solution ensures safe collaboration between man and robot, even with loads of over 100 kg, and interaction between the various components is made possible by robot control and the KUKA.PalleTech and KUKA.SafeOperation technology packages.
Blue Danube Robotics' Airskin is a sensitive skin that covers KUKA robots of different types and sizes and enables safe interaction between humans and robots in shared spaces, interrupting the robot's movement in the event of impact and ensuring safe contact in accordance with collaborative regulations.
