NPST stands for National Profession Standards for Teachers
PARAKH stands for Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development. The Union Cabinet on July 29, 2020, approved the National Education Policy 2020, which is the first education policy of the 21st century and replaces the thirty-four-year-old National Policy on Education (NPE), 1986. Under NEP, a common National Profession Standards for Teachers (NPST) will be developed by the National Council for Teacher Education by 2022, news agency PTI reported. The development done will be in consultation with NCERT, SCERTs, teachers and other experts.
