FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
▶How long do you draw per day? How long should I draw?
I draw a minumum of 3 hours a day, M-F, average 20 hours a week. You should decide whatever time is best for you and how fast you want to grow. There's no magic answer for everyone.
▶How do you deal with artblock?
I find most people dealing with artblock are actually just scared of failing, or hate the feeling of drawing something that 'isn't' good. I think every artist needs to take some time to think about why they want to make art, and learn to appreciate the process. Everyone says "if i could draw like that I'd draw all the time" but guess what? Drawing all the time is exactly what it takes to draw like that person. Every small child loves drawing even if it isn't that great...what happened to us?
▶What (X) Do you use?
Tablet: Cintiq Pro 32” + Wacom Pro Pen / 2020 Ipad Pro 12.9” + Apple Pencil
Software: Clip Studio Paint / Procreate
Apparel: Smudge Guard (helps my hand glide on the screen) Tap Strap 2:
Screen Protector: I use the Paperlike Matte Screen Protector.
▶What canvas size do you use?
Usually nothing less than 6k pixels on one side, and always 300 dpi.
▶Why do you paint in pink?
For a variety of reasons. It helps me feel like my sketches are less messy, keeps me from going too dark in values for when I want to start adding details, and it makes me take things less seriously. Its also just my thing xD.
▶When did you start drawing?
I started tracing things as a child and moved to origami. Then I got some anime/manga books and eventually got my first realistic drawing book. I was hooked onto drawing hyperrealistic portraits in pencil on paper with the grid method. I got my first drawing tablet in 2014 and never looked back. My last serious traditional piece was a half finished drawing of Daenerys Targaryen.
▶“Does he look at chat?”
Only for members streams / members chat streams. Otherwise, I do not for most streams. I do this simply because it helps me focus and keep streaming easy and fun for me. Otherwise, I'd burn out every week and stream MAYBE once or twice a month.
