Usindiso building fire report to be released on Sunday
76 people died when a fire broke out at the Usindiso building in downtown Johannesburg in August last year.
This led to Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, appointing a commission of inquiry led by Justice Sisi Khampepe. The commission was mandated to gather evidence and listen to the accounts of the survivors of this tragic incident.
The commission submitted it's first report to Lesufi who is set to release it on Sunday, 5th May 2024.
Human rights activist Andy Chinnah says the commission was important for the survivors.
