Kuroo was a third-year student from Nekoma High. He is the boys' volleyball club's captain and middle blocker during his stay there. He is known as a Scheming Captain and also a Rooster Head because of his hair.

In the time skip, he became a part of the sports promotion division of the Japan Volleyball Association and he appears after the match of MSBY Black Jackals and Schwelden Adlers offering Hinata to appear in a collaboration video with Kenma.
