Rene Guenon was a French metaphysician, well known for his insights into traditional societies and sacred science and initiations around the globe. Born a Catholic, he converted to Islamic Sufism later in his life. His many writings, chiefly those concerning the Christian, Islamic, and Hindu civilizations, would lay the groundwork for the Traditionalist/Perennialist School.
