The Battle for LGBT+ Content in Cartoons

Over the years, there's been more LGBT+ Content in Cartoons. Unfortunately, this doesn't come without its struggles. While it may seem like including LGBT+ themes are more common in today's media, there's still a lot of fights that take place behind the scenes.

Rebecca Sugar needed to fight and sacrifice the longevity of Steven Universe to further the progressive movement in children's TV animation. Noelle Stevenson, Alex Hirsch, Ian JQ and many other creators needed to make similar sacrifices with their shows.
