ANO ANG ENGINE CADET, ANO ANG TRABAHO NYA SA INTERNATIONAL SHIP

An Engine Cadet is a graduate of Marine Engineering. He works in Engine Department in international ship. Engine Cadet is the future Chief Engineer.

In some companies, an engine cadet is an apprentice engineer. These companies send a newly graduate of Marine Engineering to international ship to learn and be familiar with the ship. Then these companies will also ask them to take the board exam. Once they pass the Board Exam, they will be 4/E in the next vessel.

The career of such engine cadet faces sure direction. However, the engine cadet must serve or stay in the company until such time he and the company have agreed upon in the beginning.

Other engine cadet can be promoted to oiler in the next vessel depending on his performance and luck. For me, such engine cadet has a wider experience because he must be an oiler for some time before promoted to be an engineer officer.

Engine Cadet works in international ship usually from 8 am to 5 pm. He learns how to dismantle an assemble every machine in the egine room. He also learns how to troubleshoot these machineries.

Other Engine Cadet needs to mop and sweep floors in engine room.
