I Tried Home Assistant AGAIN & It's STILL NOT WORTH IT!

One year on, Is Home Assistant easy to use? No... Is it worth it? Still no. The Broadlink integration still requires reverse engineering all the infrared and RF codes out and manually configuring the yaml xml file. Tuya devices still don't work properly, there's still no home assistant official integrations for Switchbot, or Lightwave RF. There's still no stability for micro SD cards, there's still no way to install it on my 2 year old Synology NAS, there's still no complete version for Windows without installing a virtual box, and even that will fail if your BIOS isn't configured specifically for installing 64 bit virtual machines.

Official updates still break even the most basic of installations, and my installation from last year is already dead even though I haven't touched it.

Home Assistant is STILL a beautiful way to take control of your Smart Home "cloud free" thanks to it's LoveLace dashboard and local control options, and the Raspberry Pi Home Assistant setup has never been easier and so this video also serves as a Home Assistant Setup Guide for Windows Portable, and all the reasons you might not want to bother:

Node red sadly can't be installed on the Windows app version of Home Assistant because there's no supervisor privileges, but it is undeniably a major accomplishment by AlexxIT and a great way to try home assistant out.
