My reviews start with Motorola mobiles, including the new Moto G31 with its OLED screen (a rare feature at this budget price). It’s one of the best for media fans, despite the limited performance. Alternatively the Moto G50, G9 Plus and Power are also great options.

The Nokia 5.4 and G50 are the best for stock Android fans who want the reassurance of future updates. Meanwhile Xiaomi has several smartphones in this round-up of the best budget blowers in 2022, including the Redmi Note 10S. One of my personal favourites with solid specs and dependable camera tech.

Oppo and Realme phones are also worth considering if you can’t afford more expensive handsets, with strong specs again at this price.
