Is there anything better than the minor pentatonic scale? Let's see.

What makes a scale are its intervals and usually, you should try to match musical elements (scale and chords) to have an optimal musical outcome.

There are some exceptions though. In the blues, you can have some notes that clash particularly the minor third and the major third.

If we take the shapes of the three chords in the blues we can build a new scale out of these shapes. If we re-organize these notes we will find a hidden Dorian scale that works great for jamming over the blues form.
