Description: From our Archive - Viewers on our channel have watched a previous interview with teenager Kevin, as he described how and why he landed in juvenile detention. At 16-years old, Kevin had been locked up almost 4 months. During that time, he hadn't had a visit from his mom. and the stress of being behind bars was getting to him.

In this video, we got a rare look behind the scenes inside the detention center, as Kevin gets ready to be released from the detention center after 3 months inside. He is escorted out of his cell and through the process by Detention Supervisor, Jamie, who has gotten to know Kevin well over the several months. Jamie saw Kevin during his darkest times. Our cameras documented Kevin's last day inside, and the attitude change he had after learning he'd finally be released from detention. Combined with Part 1 of this series, our cameras were able to document a day in the life of a teen inside detention, the ups and downs of being locked up, and eventually, how things proceed on release day.

Note: After being released from juvenile detention, Kevin was later arrested in 2016 for carrying a handgun with no license. He received a two year prison sentence and was released in 2018. There is no record of him returning to the system since.

**REVISED UPDATE AS OF 8/22/21: On August 6, 2021, Kevin was arrested for rape, confinement and domestic battery. He is currently in jail awaiting trial.
