From our Archive -- When 18-year old Ricky landed in juvenile detention, it wasn't for a crime against a person or someone's property: it was because Ricky had had enough of living in a placement facility in Nevada after 16 months in the program. Once he was back home on a weekend home pass, he decided he'd had enough and never returned to the facility. Unfortunately, that was a violation of his probation which landed Ricky behind bars once again.

In this juvenile court hearing from our archive, we see Ricky, his attorney, the judge and the prosecutor go over the details of Ricky's case, as Ricky sits on the witness stand and hopes they'll understand why he did what he did. During his testimony, he takes full responsibility for his actions, but also explains he completed every step of the program and couldn't understand why he was still required to spend more time away from home.

Update: We have no indication that Ricky was ever involved with the system again after being released.
