Catching Roach, Bream and Hybrid Fishing on the Canal in Co Kildare

Fishing for roach, bream and hybrids on the canal in Co. Kildare, Ireland.

Using Tesco sweetcorn (I don't think the fish are picky about the brand) and red maggots for bait.

I was hoping to pick up a tench or two but unfortunately there was no sign of them on the day.

Fishing the waggler with 5lb main line and a 3lb 8 inch hooklength. One grain of sweetcorn and a single red maggot on a size 18.

No groundbait used, just loose feeding pellets, maggots and sweetcorn at regular intervals.
