K9 Product Tailors - What "Made In America" Means

We sit here today, and everyday, with a lot going on in the world. From the news of violent wars, entertainment in sports, and social media influencers telling us what we need to buy... The world pulls you in every direction.

As a customer of Ray Allen you see our website, our social media posts, our videos, etc. and you may engage or communicate with us. With every business though, there is a lot more (unseen) going on in the background. From meetings about strategy, ideas for videos and new products, and what's working or what's not working for the business.

Frankly, none of what's going on in our business, or the world for that matter, is possible if it wasn’t for the 3rd word in our name, "Manufacturing".

We sell all sorts of dog products (over 1,000+ SKUs), but if we take a step back to look at what the core of Ray Allen Manufacturing is, you'll see a team of K9 equipment tailors. And like the tailors of old Savile Row (or “the row”) as it’s referred to, the art of cutting and sewing is getting lost. Well, we rely on these professionals. You rely on these professionals. Our working dogs rely on these professionals!

From our phones we buy things from Amazon, having no idea how or where it’s made. No connection to the product we put on our bodies, or carry on our backs. ... I was once a dog trainer and I fell in love with how the equipment was made for the training that I did. And I pursued that. I took a job here at Ray Allen and have learned the art of the process. There's a lot of pride in these men and women, seeing something go from raw material to final product.

I implore you to try something new - to build something with your hands. Build a car, make a beanie, a bird house, or pick up woodworking. Something! I beg of you, the world needs these skilled workers. You will never be happier and more proud than when you build a functional thing, from nothing.

Here at Ray Allen, we do it every day. I watch our tailors and seamstresses learn, develop, and build product from nothing. With each day they get better and become more confident in operating a sewing machine. It's awesome when they share how proud they are to see YOU (our customer) out in the field, running with the gear they made. In part, that's why we are proud to be an American made manufacturer.
