The Biophilic World | Owen Bjorgan | TEDxGuelphU

In this inspiring talk, Owen walks us through his adventure spent hiking the 885 kilometer-long Bruce Trail in Southern Ontario, Canada when he was only 20 years old. He tells the significance of this legendary hike and helps connect all of us with the natural world.

If there was anything that could slither, crawl, leap, swim, fly, or dig, Owen was right there with it since day one. Growing up along the Niagara Escarpment, a World Biosphere Reserve that runs through Niagara On The Lake, ON, Owen was surrounded by nature at a young age. Not only was he surrounded, but he felt a part of it. Owen now in his third year of study fell easily into the University of Guelph's biodiversity program. After experiencing many of the world's natural wonders Owen decided to create a non-profit called The Biophilic World in order to help find the missing link between modern society and the natural world.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
