The Wrapped Ring Project
This project video walks you through the steps to create two wrapped rings. The first ring is oh so boho with a touch of mayhem thrown in. It's made using roller-printed square wire and the more formal, but equally beautiful, simple wrapped ring, which uses patterned wire. These are my new favorite rings!
If you don't have a rolling mill, you can always stamp or hammer-texture your wire. You can also use an electric engraver. Amazon engravers: https://amzn.to/3EZDUGR
On the pattern wire ring: Solder the ends and a few spots in between - it doesn't have to be fully soldered unless you want to do that
A couple of Nancy screw-up notes: @ 10:52 I say what sounds like "cured". I didn't even know what I said but, I have since figured it out. I said, "secured". Second screw-up, at about 18:54, I say "a couple of sizes larger". I meant hammer on the mandrel a couple of sizes SMALLER. Sheesh! BTW, I found the lost ring! It was in my studio, on my shear. Drove me crazy looking for it!
See Potter USA for amazing stamps and pattern plates. They also have hydraulic presses that can be used for patterning metal (among many other things!) Tell Kevin that Nancy said hi! https://www.potterusa.com/
