Traffic Police: Russian motorcycle cops show how to catch suspects | City Police Episode 2
In the second episode of the RT Documentary series City Police, we join the Russian traffic police and patrol the roads at night! The officers say over half of all traffic accidents happen at night. Why is it so? According to the police, drivers get tired and lose concentration. However, some could be drunk, driving without a license or number plate. In the latest episode, the traffic police chase lawbreakers. Will they be successful, or will the suspects get away from the police?
Presenter Aleksandr Nosik joins the team and joins an officer on patrol watching how the traffic police work. The police officer already knows where they’ll be going, as he already knows the blackspots, where most traffic accidents and offences happen. They will check them first.
When the night shift starts, the traffic police notice a lawbreaker. The officer tries to stop a car, but the driver hurries away, and a chase begins. Once they catch up with him, the officer checks the suspect in a database. The cop thinks he’s stolen the vehicle. Why does he think so? He uncovers his suspicions in the new episode of City Police.
The work of the Russian traffic police is hard. Officers start their shifts at 8 pm and end at 12 midday. After a night full of lawbreakers, all the squad have days off. They need to regain their strength for the next shift. All of them have to be in good shape, so they do regular exercises. Every six months, the officers have training courses.
