This is a long video because it didn't turn out well. Nobody learns anything if it all just falls into place! I used all of my tools and skills but could not get the #6 glow plug out! It seems that the shaft of the glow plug has very little clearance where it passes through the head and actually seals to the head at the base where the heating element emerges. I was able to jack the glow plug out the length of the threads but there is no way to pull it out the remaining 6 inches. I snapped off the electrical connector by hitting it sideways and then drilled out the centre of the glow plug to use an easy-out. Again, this is all quite hard to do because of the long reach required.

Use a reamer and ceramic grease when installing new glow plugs!

I'll let you know how it turns out when the last plug gets replaced. Right now it is just sitting in the head held in by friction. I drove 4 hours like this up to 85 MPH and it hasn't popped out yet.
