The true story of Moby Dick. Moby dick is a novel written by American writer Herman Melville that was published in 1851. In the book, Sailor Ishmael tells the story of the revengeful quest of Ahab, captain of their whaler ship, to kill an ever elusive white whale called Moby Dick, that is famous for sinking whaler’s ships. The book is considered to be one of the greatest american novels ever, but not many people know it was at least partially based on a true story.
