If you are a blues player that wants to go beyond the pentatonic, this lesson is for you!

Starting with a typical twelve bar blues form we are going to use two concepts: matching of the elements and tension.

We are going to create a six note scale that uses both the major third and the minor third to play over the I chord. Over the IV chord we are going to play G Dorian (same notes as C Mixolydian) the idea is to keep the same root as point of reference. And finally, over the V chord we will use a random shape in order to create tension that resolves to the I chord.
