Robert de Niro at Viktor Tsoi's Concert (1987)

This footage is taken from a concert held at the 'PROK' club in Moscow on the 9th of June, 1987. De Niro was in Moscow serving as the head of the jury for the 15th Moscow International Film Festival, and it seems he paid a small visit to a local underground concert!

The video itself was recorded by Christian Valdez, and the sound by Finnish television producer Reijo Nikkilä (the person interviewed in the beginning of the video). Unfortunately, it seems that the full footage of this concert appears to be either lost or unreleased to the public--a great shame, considering its clear and crisp quality.

The woman who speaks at the end is Olga Sviblova, a Russian curator and film director.

In addition to Robert de Niro, you can see some famous Russian figures attending the event. Actors Leonid Yarmolnik and Oleg Yankovsky are sitting together at 00:19, and you can watch musician Garik Sukachov dancing at 00:22. Pretty incredible that all of them were together in one room!
