Making a Mid-century Inspired Sateen Dress // A Sewing Diary

Welcome back to my sewing room, where today I'm making a mid-century inspired dress in black cotton sateen!

This dress is an updated version of a similar design I made earlier in the year for my adventure style lookbook. In today's video I explain where I think my last pattern went wrong, show how to make the pattern again from scratch from my basic bodice block, and sew up the updated design in my favorite fabric. I also show you how to turn a pencil skirt pattern into an A-line skirt shape and a fun new little twist on my usual puff sleeve.

Music from Epidemic sound.
And as always, yes I sew over pins, yes I am kinda sloppy with lazier zippers--I'll sew my way, you can sew your way, and we will all make cute stuff mmkay? Mmkay :)
