How to Decorate Flat Top Buttercream Butterfly Cupcakes

Create a shimmering creature using the flat-top cupcake baking hack paired with a painted buttercream technique. 🦋🎨🧁

Here's how:
🦋Use tip 1A to pipe a generous dollop of buttercream tinted magenta from our Neon Gel Food Color Set onto a sheet of parchment paper
🦋Gently press a cupcake down onto the buttercream; freeze for 15 minutes then remove from parchment
🦋Add two colors to a piping bag fitted with tip 12 (purple and teal from Neon Gel Food Color Set shown here) and pipe two large dots and two small dots at the top of the wings
🦋Use a piping tip to pull the buttercream into the center of the cupcake and repeat this step, using one small dot for the bottom wings
🦋Add black round sprinkles for the body and long black sprinkles for the antennas, plus 3 mini sprinkles to the top of each wing then sprinkle with gold shimmer dust
