"Self-development and Career choice" | Aisha Hanan Buhari | TEDxArgungu

Aisha speaks on the importance of intentionally making a career choice and invest in self-development Aisha Hanan Buhari is a young fine art photographer from Katsina state in norther Nigeria. She receives her BA in Digital Photography and Media in 2019, and this autumn she begins her MFA in Photography as well. Aisha has also exhibited her works in Abuja, Paris and London.

As a daughter of Nigeria's most prominent politician, she has lived a life dedicated by the expectations and responsibilities unique to her family's position and therefore exists in a space that is both free and restricted. This fuels her passion for her art as it is in many respects her most honest and open form of expression. Having already lived many unique life experiences beyond her years, her work is often subtle, mysterious or even cryptic, and addresses the themes of freedom, privacy, identity, the public gaze, pride and the unseen beauty of her Fulani heritage. Her ethnicity plays an especially significant influence, as all of her work's titles are in her native language.
