How to make your voice count in your community | Olubankole Wellington | TEDxLagos
Bankole Wellington delivers a passionate plea for the citizens to get involved in the democratic institutions of society. He explains that though it difficult enough to get a functional democracy working as it should, it’s even much more difficult to get anything done in a dysfunctional democracy. As non-participants, we empower those who seek to circumvent the democratic processes and institutions and only grow the dysfunction. To reverse that is the responsibility of the citizen to get involved. Olubankole Wellington, known professionally as “Banky W”, was born in the United States of America to Nigerian Parents. Hailed as the current King of African R&B, the prolific singer, songwriter, and producer has evolved over the years into becoming the most versatile and multitalented Entertainment and Media Mogul on the continent. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
