A new era known as the Information Age has begun. 18-year-old inventor and scientist Macinley Butson, explores how growing up alongside a digital revolution has influenced this generations interpretation of information and describes how, with curiosity, we can harness this knowledge to enact change. Macinley Butson is an 18-year-old inventor from Wollongong NSW, who became the first Australian to win 1st place in the world at the INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair in its history when she was just 16.
Her scientific endeavours have seen the creation of the SMART Armour – a device for Radiotherapy breast cancer patients which shields them from excess radiation during treatment, and recognition with awards such as being the 2018 NSW Young Australian of the Year.
