The 2019 Toyota Yaris L is an excellent choice if you're looking for a subcompact car that is good to drive and comes well-equipped at a fair price.

Technology

Toyota gives the base model Yaris L a fantastic number of standard protection and technology features. Bluetooth audio and telephone connectivity, a rearview camera and a 7-inch infotainment screen are all standard.

Safety

One excellent standard safety feature of the 2019 Toyota Yaris is a low-speed forward-collision warning system with automatic braking. This is an uncommon feature in the compact class, let alone the subcompact class. And it is standard.

Engine

Each 2019 Yaris is powered with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine which produces 106 horsepower. You have your choice of either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, though the XLE only includes the automatic. Either variant gets you very good fuel economy. The Yaris is also nimble and light due to its Mazda underpinnings.

Interior

The inside is where the Yaris stands out from the competition. Build quality and refinement are excellent, and the dashboard controls and infotainment system are well-configured.
