The Umbrella Academy season 1 reinvigorated comic book adaptations for the small screen. The show proved that a fantastic experience could be brought from the pages to the screen writers room with some imagination, solid visual effects, and a stellar cast. The show’s popularity, also helped spark attention for in the source material, which was first published in 2008. The Umbrella Academy Vol 1: Apocalypse Suite was followed by Vol 2: Dallas, and third volume Hotel Oblivion was just brought to completion this past year. A lot of zany, dark, and hilarious things went down in the comics, which may not be entirely appropriate or possible for television. In some cases, the creators were faithful to the comics, and in some, they went in a different direction.
