14 On-Set Details That Will Make You Love The Umbrella Academy S2 Even More!|⭐ OSSA

The Umbrella Academy Season 2 brought us quite a few surprising twists and transformations by our favorite cast of the Hargreeves' family. But was it as fun behind the scenes as it was on screen? Who got injured and why some scenes were impossible to shoot?

The unexpected finale featuring an alternative Academy was kept in secret from everyone, including the cast. They got the last three pages of script for episode 10 before filming it, and Justin Min aka Ben could not be more excited!
David Castañeda who plays Diego was careless enough to prematurely release the poster for season 2 online.

Emmy Raver-Lampman and Tom Hopper suffered from the unexpected Canadian snowstorm: Emmy torn her pants and twisted her ankle and Tom pulled his hamstring! Yes, most of the filming took place in northern Ontario, and no one expected a snowstorm in November. So, the snow had to be written in the script.

The most hopeless scene to film was when Luther ripped one in the elevator. David Castañeda could not stop laughing, and they never got a clean take with him. By the way, David grew out his real hair for Diego's new image, but he had to wear a wig anyways. Still, the most challenging transformation was putting Tom Hopper into an ape shape. Yes, he had to wore a suit all the time. Pogo from season 1 was played by the same actor who brought us Herb in season 2, and baby Pogo was portrayed by the talented actress with dwarfism.

Ellen Page, David Castañeda, Robert Sheehan and Emmy Raver-Lampman worked closely with the writers team to develop their characters' arcs. Yes, Vanya's sexuality, Kalus' cult, Kennedy's assassination and the Civil Rights Movement in the ‘60s made The Umbrella Academy Season 2 very relatable nowadays.
Robert Sheehan followed Justin Min everywhere to master his moves and gestures needed for some of their scenes.

Music was very important for the show almost as if it was another characters. The show creator Steve Blackman said that he wrote some of the scenes starting with the music he chose. The salon dance of Vanya, Klaus and Allison was initially meant to be choreographed, but ended up as a last-minute impromptu dance party of the trio. Steve Blackman shared that he loves watching actors fly for the first time, as their reactions are hilarious.

And, for his scene with Jack Ruby, Tom Hopper ate as many as 23 steaks! Can you imagine it?
