HOW TO: Install an RV Roof Vent Cover

Both of our Fantastic vent fans are equipped with rain sensors, but there are lots of times that we want the fan open and running even if it's raining out. The solution is to install vent fan covers. Our favorite is the Camco Aero-Flo (no, they did not pay us to promote it!), which has lots of venting for high air flow, plus allows easy swing-open access for cleaning.

We installed vent covers on both kitchen and bathroom fans when we purchased our motorhome 7 years ago. Recently, one of the covers got cracked, so we're replacing it with a new one. Even though the brackets for the new cover are already installed (since we're re-using the old brackets), we're taking advantage of the swap-out to show how easy it is to do it yourself.

Along with improving the flow of fresh air, reduced need for air conditioning and effective moisture removal are two great benefits of having Fantastic fans in an RV. Covering them makes them that much more versatile. If you install covers on your fans, you'll be grateful for the ability to use them in all weather conditions, especially when it's both hot and raining at the same time.
