Tai Chi and drumming are two activities with much in common. Both focus much less on the performance aspect and more on being present during the practice -- its the doing and the practice that make it a therapeutic tool. Two guests this week, each discussing their specialty.

Gurney Bolster runs Tai Chi For Health Pittsburgh, and teaches Tai Chi classes around the area, and is certified by the Tai Chi For Health Institute of Sydney Australia. The founder of that organization will be in Pittsburgh on Sept 25 for a public talk and demo. Dr. Paul Lam travels extensively, and is actively engaged in making Tai Chi accessible to all.

Janelle Burdell has turned a career playing drums into a passion for helping people grow and transform through playing drums. In a drum circle, the emphasis is on listening and communication, and that can create breakthroughs for people at risk -- the homeless, autistic children, and gang members specifically.
