-=- SEALING / VARNISHING -=-

When art is done on something paper thin like Duralar, the piece can be framed under glass or acrylic without being sealed. Avoid placing your alcohol ink work where it will be exposed to direct sunlight however. Some inks can fade in the sun.

To seal an alcohol ink piece I use a museum quality spray by Krylon: Kamar Varnish. Unlike most spray varnishes and acrylic sprays, it will not react with the alcohol inks.

Once this spray dries, you are also free to add a resin layer to your piece. In a case like this, the varnish will be acting as a primer for the resin.
