The droid army of the confederacy of Independent systems was truly enormous. Some estimates put the number of the droids in the Quintillions of droids. That's 20 to 30 battle droids for every man, woman and child in the entire galaxy. As we explored in yesterday's video, the clone army also did have some major flaws; most notably the lack of specialisation when compared to the droid army. However, despite this massive numerical advantage and theoretical advantage, the droid army was beaten by the Republic, largely because the sepratist council relied far too heavily on the crude and ineffective B-1 battle droid. So what other options did the separatists have? In today’s video, we will explore some of the lesser known but terrifying droids that very well may have won the CIS the Clone Wars.
The first droid on this list is possibly the most deadly. Some have described this droid as the older brother of the Droideka. Armed with extremely powerful rapid fire laser cannons, these droids were a clone's worst nightmare. The Scorpenek Annihilator droid was also fitted with a very powerful deflector shield generator. It was particularly effective when regular droideas positioned themselves within the annihilators shield, essentially forming an invincible turret. One such droid was able to decimate a dozen AT-TEs and another was able to eliminate 3 platoons of clones all by itself.

However, like most of the droids on this list, the scorpenek annihilator were incredibly expensive. The standard Droideka is estimated to be around 200 times more expensive than a B-1 battle droid, so it is possible that the annihilator was thousands of times more expensive. Due to this only 100 were ever produced during the clone wars.
However, the next one on the list was originally intended to be mass produced and very well may have won the war for the CIS.

While their design had some similarities with the B1-Series battle droids, their overall look was more bulky and resembled that of the B2 super battle droid.

Each of these droids was armed with two short blades, two arm-mounted blasters, and a shield that could deflect lightsabers and other weaponry. Aside from that, they were equipped with a built-in repulsor pack that allowed them to hover above the battlefield, allowing them to harass Jedi and Clone troopers from a distance as well as quickly charge at them with their blades

Despite the intention to mass produce these droids they did have some drawbacks. The droids had a weak area on their wings and clone troopers were able to easily shoot them down. However, with a few light modifications, I believe this droid could have dramatically turned the course of the war and would have been far more effective than a regular B1 battle droid due to its ability to fly.
The upgrade of the B2 battle droid, the B3, also had the potential to turn the tide of the war. In fact, Palpatine was so concerned that it could lead to a sepratist victory that he leaked
the location of their factories' wearabouts to the Jedi order.

The standard B3 was based on the B2 Droid model. However it was much bigger and well armed than the B2, and it had a considerably thicker armour. The B3 featured two main arms: the right arm had a tight spray flamethrower and the left arm featured a broad spray cannon. There were also two rapid fire blaster on two smaller secondary arms underneath the larger limbs.

If this wasn't already enough, A missile launcher with advanced missiles capable of highly complex target acquisition and tracking was installed in the left shoulder. The model also included a density projection unit, which raised the weight of the droid to 20 times its original weight. This made it almost impossible to force push or pull without significant skill.

There was also a variation of this battledroid that was coated in Cortosis. The C-B3 had less weaponry than the standard B3 but the cortosis armour made it impervious to lightsaber attacks. The Jedi were essentially defenseless against the B3 battle droids and without the machinations of Palpatine himself, they very well could have turned the tide of the war.

As well as the B3 upgrade of the B2, the CIS also developed an upgrade to the Droideka. Although similar to the Mark 2 droidekas, these also featured some significant advantages. Most notably, they had more blaster cannons and were also fitted with an ion canon. This made the droideka a highly effective weapon not just against troops but against vehicles and artillery as well.
