A Stranger Things 5 theory suggests that Will Byers, played by Noah Schnapp, may actually be a villain with Vecna.

The parallels between Will and Vecna are definitely clear, perhaps intentional, and have been pointed out across the internet. Here's a concept trailer on what we may have to come.

Fans are convinced that 'sensitive' Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) is evil, which could make sense given that even Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) himself said that Volume 2 would be absolute 'carnage'.

Vecna kept Will alive because he saw much of himself in him. Such a theory would explain how Will lasted an entire season in the Upside Down while poor Barb lasted minutes. Tthe Upside Down could be some sort of projection of a real-life D+D campaign of which he is the ultimate dungeon master, whether he realizes it or not.

Since season four ended, fans have spent their free time coming up with endless theories about what could potentially happen in season 5.

Eddie Munson isn’t dead, and will retrun as Vampire Kas;
There are a bunch of theories about Eddie being alive but the best one is the fact the Duffer brothers literally said the demobats cannot kill. In the DND universe, Vecna’s right-hand man is a half-human, half-vampire created by Vecna named “Kas the Bloody-Handed.” Kas was a human vampire that fought with a one-handed blade and a shield. So did Eddie. Fan points out, Vampires are “turned by bat bites.” As we all witnessed, Eddie was killed by the demobats who attacked him.

Eleven will sacrifice herself to save Hawkins and destroy the Upside Down;
This one is probably the most predictable and obvious theory. All anyone spoke about when watching season four was the highly likely possibility Eleven would sacrifice herself to destroy the Upside Down once and for all.

The entire five seasons will be revealed as the kids’ Dungeons and Dragons campaign;
One of the more controversial fan theories about Stranger Things’ season 5 ending suggests that the finale will reveal the entire series was just a Dungeons & Dragons campaign by Mike, Will, Dustin, and Lucas.

Will’s death kills Vecna and closes the Upside Down portal;
Just like Eleven, season one began with Will’s connection to the Upside Down. One person on Reddit suggested Will is holding on to 1983, the year he went missing and the Upside Down froze. Therefore in order to defeat Vecna, Will must appreciate time has moved on and his friends have grown up.

Needless to say, fans will have to wait until 2024 to see if any of these story possibilities come to be.
