How to make a knife filing jig, inspired by Gough Custom.

One of the best knife filing jigs, prior to buying a grinder. This build is inspired by Gough Custom, and created for a series I'm working on to show building a knife with nothing more than a drill, hacksaw and a few cheap tools.

Heres the video for Gough, check out his channel as he has many good tutorials on knife making.

Many years ago I made myself one back in about 2007, fouled it up so bad it turned me off knife making for a few years and really turned me off woodworking to make dado's and rabbits, lol. Short of it was a grainy picture off the internet, a 2x4, a hand saw and a, yes, cold chisel. In an effort to help young people not get turned off like that I wanted to make this video with a few of my own tweaks and tips I learnt from that disaster.

Material list:
1 - 1x4x8 spr
6 - 3/8 or 1/2" nuts (optional)
1- 3/8" or 1/2" x 4" eyebolt.
1 - 1/2" x 36 or 48" round stock rod.
Wood glue
12 - 1 1/2" screws.
