Music Programming Plates Part 3 - Marble Machine X #65
Check out part 1 where I explain how the hole pattern is designed:

Check out Part 2 where I claim to be making the final version of this, but as we now know, it was nowhere near the final version:
Making the Music Programming Plates - Marble Machine X #59
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3suNdUIOH30&t=325s
This is the one part of the Marble machine X where I can not compromise on the precision, its so hard to get the precision of the four joints between the quarters down to a hundredth of a mm around the whole circumference of the prog wheel.
It feels like my engineering knowledge level is playing catchup with my music precision knowledge level.
I put the highest demands of the accuracy of these parts and its really tough to get it as precise as I want it!
Been thinking about how to solve this for a long time and I am finally going up that mountain, raising my sword and walking straight up to the dragon.
Lets see if I can slay it and how many episodes it will take, Enjoy and good luck with everything you do!
Martin
PS! This is something I would love for you all to know: Many of the designs on the machine is way overcomplicated for aesthetical reasons or for lack of engineering elegance, BUT, the programming sections does actually not belong to this category. I still can not think of a simpler more functional solution than the one I am trying to execute here. I have seen many comments about this part neglecting the number of holes needed or neglecting the precision needed. So this time, its actually difficult because its never been done before. Its not difficult cause I deliberately made it so. Haha! Just felt like putting that out there!DS.
